Can you tell that I'm being quite inspired by the eCourse I'm taking, The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design? I'm trying very hard to think outside my little box and exploring a slightly different look and, most certainly, colours that I'm not used to playing with. It's all quite exciting.
Here's the combination of patterns, tied by a colour palette, that I've managed to wrap up into a collection of sorts:
I managed to pull together some mock-ups for oven mitts as well:
What do you think? Do you think they match as a collection? Should I carry on with it or toss it and start from scratch?
I can't guarantee that the patterns that emerge will be in any way impressive (wishful thinking on my part), but I'm still in the process of exploring my creative options and searching for that certain 'look' that will mark my patterns as my own. At the moment I'm all over the place. Let's hope that I can gather up all the stray pieces and form a cohesive unity from them soon. Cheers.
