I did mention, in the last post, that I was going to interpret the baby zebra sketch in paint ... well, here it is. Not sure about how it turned out and not really happy with it, probably due to my lack of experience with watercolour. But am delighted that I'm painting - it's the only way to learn, after all, and practice makes perfect, right?
Felt that it lacked something, so I tried outlining ...
But am not too happy with that either, feel that it's lost some of it's charm with the heaviness of the black outline? argh. I shall probably return to the non-outlined piece and try to fix that, though I don't have much time as I have to finish up my other little bits for this project - deadline looming.
At any rate, here's a photo of the original sketch:
Despite the fact that I'm not entirely pleased with the end result I had tons of fun with the paints, and have fallen a bit in love with the sweet zebra babies.
Wishing you a sweet day full of joy. Cheers.
