I live in temporary 'digs' at the moment, while studying at college here in the United Kingdom. I love the little bungalow I'm in, with an unlimited view of fields stretching away before me out in the back garden.
A friend once walked in and called the room my Mission Control -- a perfect description, as it's where all the fun of work and play are done. It sits on one side of the living-dining room, and is well guarded by my two trusty assistants, Bertha and Bella, who seek shelter here from the cold and drizzle of wintry days.
All I have to do is look out the window whenever I need a break, and I'm inspired by the view (yes, rain or shine), by birdsong, greenery, the countryside. This is where I sit and draw, lost in worlds of my own imagining, filled with thoughts of nature, and the wonderful imperfections of life. It's where I allow my hand to scrawl inky marks on pieces of white paper, filling them with quirky flowers and doodles that eventually become colouring pages infused with the delight and joy that I experience while creating them.
Then, of course, there's my other window that connects me to the world at large, to friends and communities, conversations and news full of amazing and motivational changes.
It's a small niche that I've carved out for myself and I love it. There's a whole lot going on here at the moment, as I learn about the business side of things and I'll be sharing all of that with you as I tread the path before me into an unknown future. But wherever I end up I know that my space will follow, and it's the place where I can sit and breathe and appreciate life to its fullest.
I hope you liked this little tour of my creative world. I'll be sharing more of what I do in posts to come, and hope you'll accompany me on this journey of naive enchantment, embracing all the challenges that come my way. Cheers.
